Produced in the USA between 2000 and 2007, the 2.5-liter Ford LCBD engine, also known as the 2.5 Duratec V6, was limited to the third generation of the well-liked Mondeo model’s maximum configuration. This engine shares many structural similarities with the Jaguar AJ25 or Mazda GY-DE engines.

The SEA, SGA, REBA, and MEBA internal combustion engines are also part of the Duratec V6 line.
The engine was installed on:
- Ford Mondeo Mk3 in 2000 – 2007.

Disadvantages of the LCBD engine
A jammed damper in the intake manifold is a proprietary engine issue;
Overheating cannot be prevented if the radiators and pump are not kept clean;
The fuel pump fails when the tank’s filter becomes clogged due to poor fuel;
Because the crankcase ventilation is contaminated, the power unit frequently perspires oil;
Hydraulic chain tensioners and hydraulic compensators have shorter lifespans when they are not properly lubricated.
