Since 2019, the General Motors LIH 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine has been manufactured in Korea and is found in crossovers built on the VSS-F platform, including the Chevrolet Trailblazer 3 and Buick Encore GX. This unit has been modified for the Opel Astra under the F12SHL, F12SHT, and F12SHR indices.

Disadvantages of the GM LIH engine
The Start-Stop system’s noises, vibrations, and glitches are criticized on specialized forums.
It has carbon buildup on the intake valves, just like all direct injection engines.
You must replace the lubricant as frequently as you can because it has a timing belt in an oil bath.
There are still a lot of complaints regarding how the EVAP fuel vapor recovery system operates.
