From 1992 to 2002, the 2.3-liter Honda H23A engine was assembled at the company’s Japanese facility and fitted to certain fourth-generation Accord and Prelude model modifications. The motor came in two different versions: one with a blue cover that was charged and the other with a black cover that did not have VTEC.

The H22A internal combustion engine is another model in the H-series.
The engine was mounted on:
- Honda Accord 5 (CD) in 1993 – 1997;
- Honda Accord 6 (CG) in 1997 – 2002;
- Honda Ascot Innova 1 (CB) in 1992 – 1996;
- Honda Prelude 4 (BA8) in 1991 – 1996;
- Rover 600 1 (RH) in 1993 – 1999.

Disadvantages of the Honda H23A engine
The only significant flaw in these power units is the oil burner, which not only wastes oil but also causes it to leak from all gaskets and seals; the cooling system also has leaks, and rubber tubes frequently burst here;
Occasionally, this area experiences sensor failures, which causes the engine to become extremely dull;
Every 40,000 kilometers, valve clearances must be changed because there are no hydraulic lifters.
