From 2013 to 2017, the Japanese company produced the 2.5-liter Nissan QR25DER engine, which was fitted to hybrid versions of vehicles like the Pathfinder, Murano, and Infiniti QX60. This motor is notable for its Roots type compressor and Atkinson economy cycle operation.

Internal combustion engines QR20DE, QR20DD, QR25DE, and QR25DD are also members of the QR family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Nissan Murano 3 (Z52) in 2015 – 2016;
- Nissan Pathfinder 4 (R52) in 2013 – 2016;
- Infiniti QX60 1 (L50) in 2013 – 2017.

Disadvantages of the QR25DER engine
The cylinder head gasket frequently breaks through this power unit because it fears overheating;
Rings and oil burn occur rapidly when the temperature regime is violated;
Lambda probes and catalysts have a much shorter lifespan when low-quality fuel is used;
Before 150,000 kilometers, a short-lived timing chain frequently stretches and needs to be replaced;
It’s also important to note that some of this motor’s spare parts are extremely expensive and uncommon.
