From 1998 until 2006, the company produced the 2.2-liter Nissan YD22DD diesel engine, which was installed on the Ad and Expert station wagons, which were well-liked in the local auto industry. The Bosch VP-44 high pressure fuel pump, which generates 79 horsepower and 157 Nm, is electronically controlled in the power unit.

Produced between 2000 and 2003, the Nissan YD22DDT was installed on the well-liked Almera family, including the upgraded Tino. Modern engines swiftly replaced this unit.
The YD22DDTi and YD25DDTi internal combustion engines are also part of the YD series.
The engine was mounted on:
- Nissan AD Van Y11 in 1999 – 2005 (YD22DD);
- Nissan Almera 2 (N16) in 2000 – 2003 (YD22DDT);
- Nissan Almera Tino 1 (V10) in 2000 – 2003 (YD22DDT);
- Nissan Expert W11 in 2000 – 2006 (YD22DD);
- Nissan X-Trail 1 (T30) in 2000 – 2003 (YD22DDT).

Disadvantages of the YD22DD/YD22DDT engine
The fuel system is somehow linked to all of this motor’s major issues.
The high pressure fuel pump and injectors can last a long time with proper maintenance, but repairing them is costly;
Many owners have to replace the double-row timing chain at high mileage; leaks from the rear crankshaft oil seal have been reported on the profile forum.
