European versions of popular models like the second generation Vitara and SX4 were equipped with the 1.6-liter Suzuki D16AA or 1.6 DDiS diesel engine, which was manufactured between 2013 and 2018. The Fiat 1.6 JTD power unit was essentially what this motor was.

Fiat family diesels: D13AA, D16AA, D19AA, and D20AA.

Disadvantages of the D16AA engine
Airing the oil pump is a known but uncommon issue with these engines.
The drying of the sealing ring between the pump and the oil intake is the cause of this.
Additionally, when the particulate filter burns, fuel seeps into the lubricant.
The EGR cooler frequently leaks after 100,000 kilometers, and occasionally its casing just bursts.
The EGR valve frequently gets totally clogged and jammed at high mileage.
