Only two related models—the first generation A4 and the B5 Passat—were equipped with the 1.6-liter 8-valve Audi ADP engine, which the company produced between 1994 and 1998. The AHL motor of the new EA113 family swiftly replaced this power unit.

The EA827 1.6l series includes: PN, AFT, ADP.

Disadvantages of the Audi ADP engine
Owners of this straightforward and dependable power unit are rarely bothered by it;
The crankcase ventilation’s frequent contamination is the main issue here;
Washing the throttle and nozzles usually helps with strong vibrations at work;
There are very few resources for the thermostat and antifreeze temperature sensor;
Over time, knocking hydraulic lifters and an oil burner are frequently encountered.
