Disadvantages of the Audi AYM engine

First, it’s important to note how quickly the camshaft cams and rockers wear down; a lot of engine issues are linked to Bosch VP44 electronically controlled injection pump failures;
This engine is also well-known for its frequent oil leaks, particularly from under the valve covers; turbine geometry frequently wedges from pollution on runs longer than 200,000 kilometers; and hydraulic compensators and pressure-reducing valves fail due to poor oil.
