Disadvantages of the 1ZR-FAE engine

Owners of cars with this engine typically complain about excessive oil consumption;
Floating rpm is frequently caused by carbon deposits in the intake manifold;
The timing chain stretches after 150,000 km, and the water pump has a 50,000 km resource;
Extraneous noises are typically associated with engine operation, particularly from VVT-i clutches; the Valvematic system controller frequently makes mistakes or simply shuts off the engine.
