Engine Mazda KL-DE

From 1992 until 2002, the company’s factories produced the Mazda KL-DE 2.5-liter V6 engine, which was fitted to European and American versions of the 626, MX-6, or Millenia models. This power unit, also referred to as the KL-03, was discovered beneath the Ford Probe’s hood.

K8-DE, K8-ZE, KF-DE, KF-ZE, KJ-ZEM, KL-G4, and KL-ZE are all members of the K-engine family.

The engine was mounted on:

  • Mazda 626 GE in 1992 – 1997;
  • Mazda Millenia TA in 1994 – 2002;
  • Mazda MX-6 GE in 1992 – 1997;
  • Mazda Xedos 9 TA in 1993 – 2002.

Disadvantages of the Mazda KL-DE engine

The engines in this series are reliable;
This aluminum block is terrified of overheating, so keep an eye on the cooling system;
After 100,000 kilometers, valve cover gaskets frequently become loose and leak;
Hydraulic lifters can knock up to 50,000 kilometers due to inadequate lubrication; the timing belt serves about 80–90 thousand kilometers, but when it breaks, the valve does not bend.
