The OM346 is a 10.8-liter direct-injection engine with six cylinders. Like all OM 300 series engines, the cylinders are arranged in an in-line configuration.
Mercedes-Benz buses and medium and heavy trucks were the primary application areas. The newly created OM 400 series motors started to replace the engines around 1970, but production didn’t end until 1978.
