Engine Chrysler ESF

The 300C, Charger, Magnum, and Grand Cherokee SRT8 models were equipped with the Chrysler ESF or HEMI 6.1 6.1-liter V8 engine, which was manufactured in Mexico between 2005 and 2010. Neither a VCT phase regulator nor an MDS cylinder deactivation system were present in such a unit.

Disadvantages of the ESF engine

This series’ engines don’t have many issues, but they use a lot of fuel;
Additionally, this power unit is even more dependable because it lacks an MDS system;
5W-20 oil is required for the motor’s regular operation, particularly for hydraulic lifters; frequently, the exhaust manifold leads and occasionally the studs of its fastening even burst;
Strange noises, commonly referred to as “Hemi ticking,” are frequently heard beneath the hood.
