Disadvantages of the Fiat 263A1000 engine
Until 2014, there were instances of oil starvation causing liners in diesel engines to turn;
The cause is the oil pump’s wear or its gasket, which starts to allow air to pass through;
The boost air pipe frequently bursts, but the turbine functions well;
Long runs raise concerns about oil and antifreeze leaks caused by cracked gaskets; similar to most diesel engines, the particulate filter and EGR are major issues.
