From 1987 to 1997, the company produced the 2.7-liter V6 Honda C27A engine, which was fitted to the Rover 827, the fifth Accord, and the first generation of the well-known Legend model. The unit was available in multiple versions, both with and without a variable intake geometry system.

The engines in the C series are the C27A, C30A, C32A, and C35A.
The engine was mounted on:
- Honda Accord 5 (CD) in 1995 – 1997;
- Honda Legend 1 (KA) in 1987 – 1990;
- Rover 800 1 (XS) in 1987 – 1995.

Disadvantages of the Honda C27A engine
Although they use a lot of fuel, the engines in this family are very dependable.
Frequent oil leaks from beneath the valve covers are a common complaint from owners.
The most common cause of the remaining engine failures is an outdated ignition system.
Rings typically lie down and the oil burn starts after 200–250 thousand kilometers.
