Engine Honda N22B

From 2008 to 2015, the company produced the 2.2-liter Honda N22B diesel engine, which was used in European versions of well-known models like the Civic, Accord, and CR-V. There were two versions of this power unit available, each with a 150 or 180 horsepower capacity.

The N16A and N22A internal combustion engines are also part of the N-series.

The engine was mounted on:

  • Honda Accord 8 (CU) in 2008 – 2015;
  • Honda Civic 9 (FB) in 2011 – 2013;
  • Honda CR-V 3 (RE) in 2009 – 2012;
  • Honda CR-V 4 (RM) in 2012 – 2014.

Disadvantages of the Honda N22B engine

The majority of complaints on specialized forums concern piezoelectric nozzles that are erratic;
Frequent issues with the EGR valve and particulate filter are next in popularity.
The booster pump will fail if the fuel filter is not changed on a regular basis.
Additionally, this unit has trouble operating in the winter and dislikes severe frosts.
