Engine Jaguar AJ27S

Produced between 1999 and 2003, the Jaguar AJ27S, also known as the 4.0 Supercharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, was fitted to charged versions of the XKR coupe in the rear of the X100 or the XJR sedan in the rear of the X308. Phase regulators are absent from the power unit with a compressor, in contrast to the atmospheric version.

Disadvantages of the Jaguar AJ27S engine

By the end of 1999, more dependable cast-iron sleeves had taken the place of the initial units’ nikasil coating, which was due to concerns about defective fuel.
The motor’s plastic timing chain guides are another weak point.
Keep the radiator clean because the aluminum engine cannot withstand overheating;
As fate would have it, pipes frequently burst and the pump is known for its poor dependability.
