Disadvantages of the MR16DDT engine
The majority of complaints on the forums concern various knocks or noises;
Twitching is frequently caused by a buggy mass air flow sensor;
On the electrical side, the boost pressure sensor frequently malfunctions; the speed floats due to dirt on the throttle; the motor is caused by an ignition coil malfunction;
The crankcase exhaust line freezes in frost, forcing oil through the dipstick;
There have been numerous instances of timing chain stretching over distances of up to 100,000 kilometers.
