Since 2018, a Japanese company has been assembling the 1.5-liter Suzuki K15B gasoline engine, which is found in popular models like the Jimny SUV, Ertiga compact van, and Ciaz sedan. A hybrid version of this engine is available in several markets in addition to the standard version.

K-series engines include the K6A, K10A, K10B, K12B, K14C, K14B, and K15B.

The engine was installed on:
- Suzuki Ciaz 1 (VC) since 2018;
- Suzuki Ertiga 2 (NC) since 2018;
- Suzuki Jimny 4 (GJ) since 2018;
- Suzuki Vitara Brezza 1 (YF) since 2020.
Disadvantages of the Suzuki K15B engine
The engines in this series cannot withstand poor fuel, even with distributed injection;
Many owners have expressed dissatisfaction on the internet regarding the first kilometers’ oil consumption;
Additionally, instances of timing chain stretching on a run of 100–150 thousand kilometers were documented;
The camshaft must be removed in order to adjust the valves, and there are no hydraulic lifters.
