Engine Volkswagen AVF

The VW AVF 1.9 TDI, a 1.9-liter, 8-valve diesel engine, was assembled between 2000 and 2008 and mounted longitudinally on the mass models of the VAG company. Such a diesel engine is frequently found under the hood of the Audi A4, Skoda Superb, and Passat B5.

Disadvantages of the VW AVF engine

This dependable diesel engine has very high standards for lubricant quality;
Low-quality oil causes the hydraulic lifters and camshaft cams to deteriorate;
Wedges from pollution and engine thrust dips frequently occur in turbine geometry;
Leaks frequently result from the unreliability of mounting the unit-injectors with a single bolt;
The tandem pump is the root cause of numerous malfunctions in this power unit’s operation.
