Engine Volkswagen DACA

First unveiled in 2016, the 1.5-liter Volkswagen DACA 1.5 TSI turbo engine started to be fitted on well-known concern models like the Golf 7 and Seat Leon 3 a year later. The BlueMotion index is a particularly cost-effective modification of such a power unit.

  • Seat Leon 3 (5F) in 2018 – 2020; Leon 4 (KL) since 2020;
  • Volkswagen Golf 7 (5G) in 2017 – 2020; Golf 8 (CD) since 2020;
  • Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan 1 (AM) in 2017 – 2020.

Disadvantages of the VW DACA engine

Little is known about the dependability of these units, which have only recently started to be installed.
The engine has high requirements for fuel quality.
There has never been a turbine with variable geometry installed on a mass-produced gasoline engine.
They complain about the motor’s jerky operation at low speeds on specialized forums.
