Since 2001, the company’s businesses have been producing the 4.8-liter Nissan TB48DE engine (abbreviated TB48) with a bore x stroke of 99.5 mm × 102 mm (3.92 in × 4.02 in) and a double overhead camshaft. This engine is installed on various Patrol SUV modifications for markets where fuel savings are not possible.

Disadvantages of the TB48DE engine
The engine’s high fuel consumption is its only flaw, despite its outstanding dependability;
