From 1999 until 2005, the German company produced the 2.5-liter Audi AKE 2.5 TDI engine, which was fitted to the company’s most well-known models, including the A4 B6, A6 C5, and A8 D2. The only power unit from the A-series, which was put together in parallel with the B-series, is this one.

The EA330 series also includes: AFB, AKE, AKN, AYM, BAU, BDG, BDH.

The engine was installed on:
- Audi A4 B6 (8E) in 2000 – 2004;
- Audi A6 C5 (4B) in 1999 – 2005;

Disadvantages of the Audi AKE engine
The fast wear of the camshaft cams and rockers is the most common complaint from owners; issues with the Bosch VP44 electronically controlled injection pump are the next most common.
Additionally unreliable is the vane pump, which draws fuel from the tank;
Oil frequently seeps from the joints of the block with a sump or cylinder head and beneath the valve cover;
Additionally, a viscous coupling bearing and pressure-reducing valves are weak points.
