Engine Audi BAR

From 2005 to 2010, the company produced the 4.2-liter Audi BAR or Q7 4.2 FSI engine, which was mounted on popular crossovers like the Audi Q7 and the original Volkswagen Touareg. An updated version of this engine with the CGNA index can be found on the Touareg’s second generation.

Disadvantages of the Audi BAR engine

The most well-known issue with the motor is the oil burner because of cylinder scuffing; an unpredictable direct injection system also causes many issues for owners;
The replacement of timing chains is challenging and costly, and they are not the largest resource;
Plastic intake manifolds are prone to cracking and leaks; ignition coils frequently break and leaks happen where the engine and gearbox meet.
