Engine Opel Y17DT

The group’s well-known compact models, including the Astra, Corsa, and Meriva, were equipped with the 1.7-liter Opel Y17DT or LR6 diesel engine, which was manufactured between 2000 and 2005. This device was essentially an adaptation of the well-known Isuzu 4EE2 diesel engine from Japan.

  • Opel Astra G (T98) in 2000 – 2004;

  • Opel Meriva A (X03) in 2003 – 2005.

Disadvantages of the Y17DT engine

The majority of issues are caused by the erratic Denso injection pump control unit;frequently, engine malfunctions are caused by the wiring harness rather than the control unit;
Injection advance or dosing valves in the pump itself frequently leak;
Additionally, there are two reasons why oil frequently gets into the cooling system:
First, there is a leak in the heat exchanger; second, there is a leak in the glasses that contain the nozzles.
