Engine Opel Y22DTH

Only the company’s rear and all-wheel drive models, like the Frontera or Omega, were equipped with the 2.2-liter diesel Opel Y22DTH or LL9, which was manufactured between 2000 and 2004. The X22DTH engine was essentially updated for EURO 3 environmental standards by this power unit.

Disadvantages of the Y22DTH engine

Above all, frequent fuel system airing will lead to issues;
The Bosch VP44 capricious injection pump’s electrical malfunctions rank second;
Turning the liners or shattering the crankshaft are risks associated with continuous driving in tightness;
Fuel and oil mix when the rubber gaskets beneath the injectors dry out;
Remember to burn the particulate filter and clean the EGR valve on a periodic basis.
