Prior to its redesign, the European version of the first generation SX4 crossover was equipped with a 1.4-liter Suzuki 10JBAX or 1.6 DDiS diesel engine, which was manufactured between 2007 and 2009. In essence, this power unit is a type of Peugeot DV6ATED4 engine.

Diesel is also included in this series: 10FD53.

Disadvantages of the 10JBAX engine
Regular oil and antifreeze leaks are the owner’s biggest issues.
Here, too, chain stretching between the camshafts frequently causes phases to veer off course.
The turbine’s lifespan is shortened by the grease coarse filter’s rapid clogging.
If the timing belt breaks, keep an eye on its condition or get ready for a major overhaul.
The EGR valve and the fire-resistant washers beneath the nozzles are the engine’s weak points.
