Since 2016, the company’s American plant has been assembling the 3.6-liter V6 Jeep ERC engine, which is fitted to all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive vehicles like the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. A two-stage system for adjusting the height of the VVL valves sets the unit apart.

The Pentastar series consists of EHB, EHD, ERB, and ERC.

Disadvantages of the Jeep ERC engine
Phase regulators were replaced under warranty and had very little use in the early models of motors.
One might have to deal with the camshaft cams’ impending wear even prior to 2018.
A new control unit firmware was used to address the remaining issues with the initial units.
Destroying the o-rings of the VVL solenoids is extremely uncommon.
Owners occasionally complain about fuel rail leaks and spark plug cracking.
